Reunion Awards

Most Children

We had a twenty way tie between classmates reporting in with four (4) children and no one reported more.  To break the tie; awards were given to Jeff and Katie Kragen and Tom and Stephanie Northam for both having four (4) children since the Ten Year Reunion.

Most Recent Parent

Things are busy in this area, with several classmates having children in the last year. And things were heating up through the summer with plenty of classmates growing their families.  Ken and Laura Farro added a daughter in June, Tom and Stephanie Northam had a little boy the beginning of July.  The award for most recent parent was given to Rich Thole and Donnette Knowles who became parents of little Richard Frank Thole, Jr. on July 24th. Not attending the reunion was Kim Glenn Disbrow and her husband Tim who added baby Jessica on July 31st to their family and Judy Pyper Malmrose and her husband Roger were awaiting the birth of a baby girl, Rachel,  during the reunion.

Married the Longest

A few classmates will celebrate their 19th wedding anniversary this year.  Greg and Ellen Golcher Sturmer will celebrate in November, and Steve and Sheri Carroll Allen will celebrate at the end of August.  Sheri Carroll Allen said the secret to a long marriage was LOVE.

Traveled the Furthest

We had to call in the map experts to call a close race for those who travelled the furthest to attend the reunion.  Jeff Salo and his wife travelled from Michigan (2,712)Stephanie Shutts Barron came from Vermont (2,992), but awarded a stunning certificate for travelling the furthest was Tom Eccleston arriving from Connecticut (3,010).  Maybe next time we'll get a little further with classmates currently living in Switzerland, Russia and Japan.

Favorite Teacher

There were many teachers nominated for Favorite Teacher including a few of these familiar names:

Don Anger
Bob Athenour
Tony Bright
Adele Denny
George Jacobson
Skip Mohatt
and of course Chuck Volonte

but the top vote getter was ...................Virginia Patton.

Favorite Song

Looking at all the nominations for Favorite Class Song was like watching a commercial to buy a CD from the Songs of the 70's and 80's.  AC/DC received many votes for all their various songs including Highway to Hell and You Shook Me All Night Long, but the top vote getter was from a different group and maybe shows how we "mellow with age" ---BABE by Styx.
